2. Scope and applicable law

This notice applies to every NearFor.me market and language (Italy, United Kingdom, Spain, Venezuela) and complies with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), the UK GDPR, the ePrivacy Directive 2002/58/EC as implemented locally, and applicable local laws. It is a single text valid in all countries: the rights described belong to every data subject regardless of browsing market.

3. Personal data we process

We process only what is strictly necessary, following data minimisation: technical browsing data (IP in technical form, security logs, pages viewed); account data (name, email, protected credentials, role) only on registration; voluntarily provided data (enquiries to venues, claims, applications, messages to the controller); on-device preferences (saved venues, theme previews); precise location only with consent via “Near me”; payment data handled exclusively by the external provider at checkout, card numbers are never stored by the controller.

4. Purposes and legal bases

• Service delivery and security (listings, search, abuse prevention): pre-contractual measures and legitimate interests.
• Account management and support: contract performance and consent for optional communications.
• Browsing preferences (language, saved items, theme): consent via the cookie banner.
• Aggregate statistics (clicks, conversions, feature use): consent, never with third-party advertising identifiers.
• Maps and geolocation: only with dedicated marketing consent.
• Legal obligations (billing, security, authority requests): legal obligation.

Providing data for basic operation is optional but some features cannot work without it. Consent for optional categories can always be withdrawn with no harm to basic browsing.

5. Processing methods and security

Processing uses electronic means with appropriate technical and organisational measures: encrypted connections, role-based access control, log minimisation, backups and protection against unauthorised access. Internal access is limited to authorised EBIZZERS LTD staff and appointed processors.

6. Retention

• Technical and security logs: only as long as strictly necessary and no longer than 12 months, unless the law requires more.
• Account data: until account deletion and then only for applicable statutory periods.
• Enquiries and messages: up to 24 months after the case is closed.
• Cookie consents: the stored choice lives on the device until withdrawn or cleared; it is re-asked at most every 6 months.

7. Recipients and international transfers

Data is never sold or disclosed publicly. Processors or independent controllers may include hosting and maintenance providers, map providers (OpenStreetMap tiles loaded only with consent) and the payment provider at external checkout. As the controller is established in the United Kingdom and users are also in the European Economic Area, UK↔EU transfers rely on the adequacy decisions in force; any other transfer uses appropriate safeguards (standard contractual clauses) with prior information.

8. Your rights

Every data subject may exercise access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection and consent withdrawal at any time by writing to info@nearfor.me. We reply within one month, extendable by two months for complex requests. You may also lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority (for example the Garante in Italy, the Information Commissioner’s Office in the United Kingdom, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos in Spain) or your habitual residence authority.

9. Children

The service targets adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16; if we learn of such data we delete it. Parents may contact info@nearfor.me for any report.

10. Cookies and trackers

NearFor.me uses no third-party advertising cookies and no embedded external tracking libraries. Categories in use:

• Strictly necessary (always on, no consent): session and security cookies for authentication, technical language preference and load balancing. The site cannot work without them.
• Preferences (with consent): local nearfor-saved-* and nearfor-theme-* storage. If refused, saves persist in memory for the session only.
• Statistics (with consent): first-party counts of clicks and conversions, with no cross-site identifiers. If refused, nothing is measured.
• Marketing and third parties (with consent): OpenStreetMap map tiles and precise browser geolocation. Until consent, maps show a placeholder and “Near me” asks to manage preferences instead of locating you.

On first visit a banner offers Accept all, Reject and Customise: basic browsing always remains available even after rejection, with only necessary cookies active; consent-gated features stay disabled until a positive choice and show a dedicated notice. Choices can be changed at any time via the “Manage consent” footer link or by clearing site data in the browser, with immediate effect for future processing.

Updates are published on this page with a revision date. For material changes a dedicated notice is shown and, where required by law, consent is collected again.
